Delectation Diary
By Barbara Anne RobertsDrunk with Work
By Georgia Edmunds'I don't play for fun, I play to win'
- in the past I have even competed against children - and I mean 'children' and had to win.. thinking back I probably should have toned it down a bit..
so this works thing, I had a feeling I probably shouldn't go.. but I thought I would anyway.. and my boyfriend came along too as we were a couple of players short... Out comes the Red Wine before we start, didn't help to control the beast inside me... - to cut a long story short, the first SEVEN batting opportunities i had i scored SEVEN runs... I think dean did too! At one point a man was running for my base, we slammed into each other, both fell flat and i still tried to dab him out.... though i missed the post and dabbed him somewhere else!
The umpire kept shouting 'Remember everyone, this game is for fun' ... yeah right!
One member of the opposition, must have been about 70 years old, I bowled it , she misses it, backstop throws it to Dean who gets her out.. we were unstoppable.
My colleague told me that I was at one point on every base and getting to the ball from the bowling spot before the fielder in the area the ball was going... i was a little worried going into work monday morning. it was fine though, but the first thing someone said to me was... 'bloody hell girl you are competitive'
Didn't learn my lesson, saturday night I drank farrrr too much and still suffering, its 8.15pm and i am going to sleep now.
good night

Tribute to the best blog in the world.
By Georgia Edmunds
i am gutted, i just wrote a really long blog and i pressed enter
and it crashed and it got lost... it was really funny too......
in fact it was the best blog in the world.... -- so now this is a
tribute....
I was saying about the program i watched just now, it was about
superhuman people.... it was about a man who used to tie rice
sacks on his baby's arms and legs just days old to start training
them, by the age of 4 they are doing 8 hrs a day weight
training... he wants his girls to be the worlds strongest
teenagers. - i thought it was borderline abuse..... he was living
his dreams through them.. i mean there is nothing wrong with that
to some extent but come on!!
(id written more about that topic and it was really funny - but
remember this is just a tribute)
I was also talking about last night and the fun we had.. i went
out last night with my 4 girl friends and we had a good laugh, by
9pm we were in Walkabout the australian bar and we were all up
for it... dancing and taking photos but then we one at a time
proceeded to dance over our bags in the middle of our circle.....
started off dancing normally, and for some strange reason we
started doing pressups over the bags.... now this is not the most
attractive thing to start doing in a busy bar when the ashes were
on... not female pressups either, these were 'proper' male
pressups... not a good look.
You gotta love coming home on the late train singing welsh songs
all the way home, i think it was because there were alot of
english themed painted faces and white shirts that the welsh
people all needed a sing song.
I hope you have enjoyed this tribute ( this is the third time ive
written it - i am going to save this now if it doesnt work again
i can just paste it) ..... this is not like the worlds greatest
blog i did earlier.. that was much longer .. my first draft,, you
gotta believe it , i wish you'd seen it, its just a matter of
opinion. i couldnt remember the greatest blog in the world....
this was just a tribute.
hope you enjoyed and i hope this one goes through
All for now

Perfectly Normal's Blog
By Georgia EdmundsI once tried to get hits on my youtube video as a competition... and i managed to get 85,000!.. though i did label it.. Hot, Wet Girl, Shower babe.. but it still won the competition.
at the moment, me and my boyfriend of 5 months, 1 day , 1 hr and 14 mins (not that im counting - only joking dean) is laughing hysterically at a Tourettes program, its called 'I swear i can't help it' , thought that was a good name. It reminds me of my uncle gar when he comes down and we try and guess the headline in the newspaper - especially after a rugby match.. cant think of any right now... maybe Bread of henson?? (i dont think that was one actually)
Talking of hits, i hope this website goes global - it can happen, but thats a story for another chapter of this blog...
I'm off now

Food and friendship
By Aran JonesIt's been very interesting putting this together, and I think that Vicki has got a great idea - I'm looking forward to welcoming our first visitor for a meal, and looking forward to finding an EatWithaLocal-er the next time we travel anywhere...
Although the main idea is about travellers getting to know new cultures, I think this could also be a great way for people to get to know other people in their own communities.
How often do you hear these days that people don't know the other people living on the same street as them? But fifty years ago, they all knew each other. Now, we spend too much time watching tv or videos to get to know the people next door.
EatWithaLocal could help change that. You could look for EWaLers in your own community - and you know straight away that they are cheerful, positive people who like to make new friends. What better?!
University students could look for EWaLers to help them become a real part of their new town - and they could even offer meals in return, too! A great push in the direction of standing on their own two feet...;-)
I'm really looking forward to seeing all the other ideas that I hope will grow out of this community...:-)
